Russian River - California's most diverse and beautiful wine region. Part of Sonoma Country which many say has emerged as the premier wine region of the world. Sonoma Country has more vineyards and appellations than Napa to the East, thirteen appellations in all. With it's vast number of microclimates and soils to work with, from the hot valley around Cloverdale to the cool vineyards of the Sonoma Coast, the area's winemakers will always be the avant-garde of wine-creation and storytelling. This region is located just to the south and west of Dry Creek Valley. This region is so large that it also has two smaller appellations called Green Valley and Chalk Hill.
The region has over 130 Sonoma wineries and is known mostly for its Pinot Noir wine and Cabernet Sauvignon wine.
