Maule Valley

The Maule Valley is different from other Central Valley wine regions, not having a flat valley floor. The uneven terrain allows the opportunity for individual wineries to create their own distinctive styles. One of Chile's cooler and cloudier regions.

The region is home to some of the oldest vineyards in the country, predating the late 20th century boom of modern Chilean viticulture. Many varietals are grown and have been known to mix into delicious field blends (much like mutts are often the smartest and most friendly dogs as opposed to purebreds, field blends can often be quite harmonious wines, with characteristics of each grape contributing toward the luscious complexity).
 
Most recently, the dominant grapes of the region are the requisite Cabernet.
